We never wanted to be like everybody else. From the time Ken Maibach stopped installing tile and became partners in a small woodworking shop, he wanted to do things the right way, and create beautiful work. 40 years later the IBEX™ line of products is testimony to his vision.  

From the very beginning he invested heavily in two things: (1) precision machinery from around the world and (2) skilled craftsmen and women who took pride in the products they created. In 2015, Ken’s son, Todd Gasser, joined him in the business and shortly after, they began developing the systems needed to supply independent building supply retailers with customizable products.  

They started with a hardwood flooring line that allowed designers and homeowners to combine different face and edge details with different stains and wood species to create the exact look they wanted. Then they developed a line of exquisitely detailed mantels, beams and columns combining the benefits of hollow center designs with the the rich detailing of solid wood products.  

As the company grew, Ken and Todd found themselves supplying custom stair parts, exterior doors, and moldings to a growing group of retailers hungry for different looks and better quality than their customers could find in big box stores. IBEX™ gave them a way to combine their customer’s design ideas with quality craftsmanship and ready availability.
